Quintrans Raises USD 750K Pre-Seed Funding Led by Capital-A

Quintrans

Pune/Bengaluru: Capital-A, India’s specialist venture capital fund focused on manufacturing and deep tech, has led a $750K pre-seed funding round in Quintrans, a deep tech engineering startup building India-designed direct-drive linear motion systems for industrial automation, robotics, and equipment manufacturing.

The funding round also saw participation from Sumeet Kabra of RR Global, SanchiConnect, AIC-Pinnacle, and other strategic partners, along with continued ecosystem support from existing partner IIMA Ventures.

Quintrans Builds India-Designed Direct-Drive Motion Systems

Founded by four engineers from MIT Pune – Pranay Luniya, Kartik Kulkarni, Aniruddha Atigre, and Prasanna Kadambi – Quintrans is developing advanced electromagnetic and electromechanical linear motion components that deliver frictionless movement, high-speed performance, and micron-level precision.

The company’s India-led design and manufacturing model enables cost efficiency, customised deployments, and assured service, strengthening its positioning as a global ‘Make in India’ contender.

The capital raised will be used to establish an in-house manufacturing and advanced testing facility in Pune, accelerate research and development in electromagnetic actuation technologies, and build a core engineering and operations team to support commercial rollout.

India manufactured and sold approximately 6.8 million actuators in FY 2022, with demand expected to rise to 10–11 million units by FY 2026, driven by sectors such as automotive, industrial automation, HVAC, and marine applications.

Quintrans aims to produce close to half a million actuators annually by 2030, positioning itself as a significant domestic player in a market historically dominated by global OEMs including SMC, Festo, and LinMot.

Pranay Luniya, Founder and CEO, Quintrans, said the company is focused on building dependable linear motion systems in India through an engineering-first approach, with hardware and control electronics developed in-house to offer customers fully integrated solutions.

Ankit Kedia, Founder and Lead Investor at Capital-A, highlighted that Quintrans is among the few young Indian teams bringing both technical depth and practical understanding to a segment with limited innovation from emerging markets.

Quintrans is part of MaXcel, the hardware and industrial technology accelerator run by Capital-A and SanchiConnect, which supports startups developing engineering-led manufacturing solutions.
